Non-shoppers will also find plenty to keep them occupied at Artsplosure: it's as much a street fair as a shopping venue. There's plenty of live entertainment, including two stages of music, and visitors have lots of fun watching artists make giant sand castles, colorful murals, and other whimsical creations. So, Artsplosure is a great place to go for a walk (you can even bring your dog, as long as he's on a leash) and enjoy the sights and sounds of a bustling street fair.
Parents and kids will both love Kidsplosure, Artsplosure's family-fun fair, which has tons of hands-on activities for children. Making crafts, blowing bubbles with intricately-sculpted bubble wands, and playing chess on a giant chess board are just a few of the fun things that parents and kids can do together at Kidsplosure.
Admission to Artsplosure and Kidplosure, including concerts and activities, is free. Get there early if you can--Artsplosure often becomes more and more crowded as the day progresses.
Also, keep in mind that parking at Artsplosure can be a real hassle: most of the on-street parking surrounding Moore Square is closed off, and nearby parking garages (such as the conveniently-located Moore Square Garage) are often filled to capacity, despite charging a relatively-hefty parking fee (about $5.00) for parking that is usually free on weekends.
