The Bottom Line

Pharaoh's American Grill is a locally-owned fast-food/deli-style sandwich place with three Raleigh locations.

Pros

  • Pharaoh's burgers, chicken salad and tuna salad are "homemade"
  • Pharaoh's sells ice cream sundaes, milkshakes and other frozen desserts

Cons

  • Vegetarian selections are limited. There are about four veggie selections on the menu.
  • The downtown Raleigh ( Davie St. ) location is only open about 17 hours/wk (weekday lunch only).

Description

  • Pharaoh's is a fast-food sandwich place, like Subway or Quizno's. However, Pharaoh's is a homegrown, locally-owned chain.
  • A sandwich at Pharaoh's will set you back about $3-7 (hot dogs are the cheapest, cheese steak the most expensive).
  • The restaurants are decorated with a pharaoh/sphinx theme.
  • Pharaoh's has three Raleigh locations:
  • 4421 Six Forks Rd Suite 109B, Raleigh, NC, 27609, 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. 7 days/week
  • 4325 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC, 27612, 11:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. 7 days/week
  • 170 East Davie Street, Raleigh, NC, 27601, (919) 899-6329, M-F 11:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

Guide Review - Pharaoh's American Grill Raleigh- Review of Pharaoh's American Grill Restaurant

While on the Triangle Food Tour, I visited Pharaoh's downtown Raleigh location and tried their tuna salad sandwich on rye bread. I was pleased to discover that their tuna salad was made with high quality ingredients and truly tasted homemade. I'm a big tuna salad fan, but am usually disappointed with the blended mush that most places stuff a tuna salad sandwich with. Not so at Pharaoh's.

I also enjoyed Pharaoh's fresh squeezed orangeade. It was a little watery/over diluted, but very refreshing, not too sweet, and definitely fresh as opposed to from concentrate.
