USA Baseball is the governing body of amateur baseball in the United States. USA baseball provides training and support for the US Olympic Baseball team, as well as for the US Junior National Team and the Women's National Team, among others.
USA Baseball's administrative headquarters are located in Durham (At the American Tobacco Campus) and its National Training Complex is located in Cary, NC which is a suburb of Raleigh .
Raleigh-Durham residents and visitors to the Triangle will be able to see the 2008 US Olympic Baseball Team in action before they head to Beijing for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Between August 1-4, the US Olympic Baseball team will be playing a series of four exhibition games against the Canadian Olympic Baseball Team. One of the games, on August 1, will take place at the USA Baseball Training Complex in Cary . The other three will take place at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham . Tickets for the games can be purchased online, are non-refundable and cost $10-$50.
On July 31, the night before the exhibition game series begins, the US Olympic Baseball Team will be honored with a banquet at the Embassy Suites in Cary , NC . The banquet is hosted by The Triangle Sports Commission, and is a chance for members of the general public to get some face time with the members of the Olympic baseball team.
